Professor, football researcher, performance analyst, and coach.
I’m Roberto López del Campo.
I’ve spent the last 20 years working at the crossroads of football and science — leading research projects, developing tools for clubs, and exploring how data and tactical understanding can improve decision-making on and off the pitch.
Along the way, I’ve collaborated with institutions such as LALIGA, Real Madrid, Atlético de Madrid, and the Royal Spanish Football Federation, while also teaching and publishing at universities and in international journals.
As a UEFA Pro Licence coach, I combine high-level tactical expertise with scientific rigor, building bridges between applied research and elite football environments.
I currently coordinate the Research Area within LALIGA’s Football Intelligence & Performance Department, where we bridge the gap between applied science and real-world football performance.
My mission is simple: to turn complex data into useful knowledge — knowledge that helps coaches, analysts, and professionals work smarter, not harder.
